Indeed, I think that is what was occurring; possibly digging in a bit or getting cammed versus the sidewall from the bore.
The hammer spring in the picture all of the way over the left with the peened trigger plate looks different from the others too. The spring finishes will dig and afterwards stick into your cast aluminum from time to time. Water/moisture exposure eventually doesnt help much possibly.
I discovered it odd that the hammers don't specifically align with the firing pin butt, as evidenced by the location of the peening of your Bullet molds hammer facial area, but I suppose R-P experienced their reasons.

Agreed, but they are factory springs. When I do provide the old Brownells gun spring kit (about two dozen assorted springs 8" long) to attract from, and Commonly Slice springs with a Dremel, I did not fabricate any of those.
